pedra bonita hike + tijuca Forest Tour
With a driving tour in the Forest after the hike
For those who like hiking, Pedra Bonita, located inside the Tijuca Forest National Park, will widelight you with the view from the top of the mountain!
The best known and most cost-effective hike (physical x visual effort) in Rio is the Pedra Bonita trail, which does not require much of the hikers and offers a surreally wonderful view: Barra da Tijuca on one side, Pedra da Gávea in the middle and the South Zone with Christ the Redeemer and Guanabara Bay on the other side.
* This tour involves a lot of walking, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes.
* This tour is not recommended for those with severe back/knee problems.
- Pick-up at your place (in the south or central zone of Rio).
- Pedra Bonita Hike: about 50 minutes hiking up, and another 40 minutes hiking down.
- Paragliding Ramp: you will also see people doing hang glading.
- Taunay Waterfall: the most famous waterfall of Tijuca National Park.

90km away from Rio, the city of Teresopolis has one of the entrances to Serra dos Orgaos National Park, which is divided into 3 zones: Teresopolis, Guapimirim and Petropolis. In this tour, we are going to visit the first 2 ones.
- Pick-up at your place (in the south or central zone of Rio).
- Guapimirim: we will visit the Poço Verde Waterfall, located at only 15min hike from Guapimirim's visitors center.
- Teresopolis: we will hike up to Cartao Postal viewpoint. This is a mid level hike. 1h hiking up and 50min hiking down.
- Stop for lunch.
